10 months old
Need to double check where the point of focus is in the future but this was a try to get a quick photo of the smiling, standing boy. He chatters quite a bit but I haven't picked up on any distinguishable words yet. His chatter is a sweet, joyful sound though- most of the time. He does get frustrated when he can't make something work the way he wants or when he's ready for attention.

Word confusion
I needed to vacuum yesterday so I told Micah that I was going to do that. He ran to the island cabinets and said "I'll get the lowercase vacuum." And got the hand held DustBuster. (Lowercase vacuum?????- what?). I realized after a moment that as we talk about letters I usually try to say capital and lowercase. Other times though, and in one game we have, the letters are referred to as big and little.
So apparently little and lowercase are synonyms for Micah. I didn't try to explain, I just enjoyed the thoughtful cuteness.

mall train
We just got back from Nashville and the outlet mall there had probably the coolest little train that drives through a portion of the mall. We got our tickets, hopped in the caboose and then waved to all the people we passed on our ride through the mall. Micah loved it and even got to pull the bell after our ride.
Meanwhile, Gideon has gotten his top two teeth, has finally decided he'll take a bottle and will be crawling before long I expect. He gets up on all fours and flops himself down to his belly to get the extra inches he needs to reach something or will army crawl a bit in order to get a closer view of whatever he's after. He's getting more interactive, lights up with a big smile if Micah starts talking to him, and Micah loves talking to Gideon. Sometimes so much so, that he wakes Gideon up by climbing in his crib in order to start the day. :/

snow
Not yet quite enough snow outside today for the construction workers so we tried a recipe for indoor snow.

kitchen help
Micah saw my gloves beside the sink and put them on, needing a little help with the second one. He told me "I wash the dishes." Well, ok, let's see how this goes. "I need a chair." "I need some water." I gave him his plastic dishes and a soapy sponge. There was a lot of pouring water back and forth, some ended up on the floor as I expected, and there no clean dishes by the end, however, I see a promising future for my kitchen helper.

Happy New Year
So Gideon is already 6 months old and loves his first tastes of food. Micah has said he wants the green beans so maybe Gideon's eating of vegetables will spark it for Micah again. The kids and I started out the new year with colds. So far John has stayed healthy so hopefully he's missed it. An antibiotic for Micah and easier breathing for me and we seem to be on the mend.
Micah keeps asking what happened to his Christmas tree- maybe we shouldn't have taken it down after he was asleep. Ornaments have helped us remember to tell him the stories of us as kids and our life together so far.
