a little vacation

So, we cashed in flight vouchers and points and hotel points and spent a few days in warm Puerto Rico.  It was a well-needed rest, and a good time together for our family away from the normal distractions.  Micah is a beach baby!  He loved playing in the sand with his truck, "shu-shew" (shovel) and "buck" (bucket).  Each day as we were packing up from our time at the beach he'd tell us "all done wa-wa."  He does love the water and with floaties was really getting the hang of kicking and using his arms to swim by himself.

We've decided to find out whether we're having a boy or girl with this baby and we look forward to that ultrasound coming up on Thursday.  Hopefully, baby cooperates.

Big

This photo is for big, because Micah is getting big. We just gave him a haircut because it was a bit long and unruly and now, he looks even more like a bigger little boy.  But what struck me today was that I put his coat on and zipped it just a bit while I got my purse together and coat on. Micah zipped the coat up the rest of the way by himself.  I guess not really that big of a deal but yep, getting a bit more independent.  I'm looking forward to the summer when getting ready to go outside, just involves flip flops- no coats, gloves or hats to gather up.

Lunch

We're having our challenges.  As with most toddlers, I guess, he's figuring out what he can and can't do (physically and with parental boundaries) and that makes for some trying moments.  I love that he wants to explore and figure things out, I'd like it to not include cleaning up a bunch of water on the floor, though. But I guess that's part of it.  We pray for God's wisdom as we patiently correct the behavior.  But, wow, he's such a joy and a blessing in our family!
